The proposed masterplan for the Indonesian city of Jombang sees the revitilisation and development of a culturally rich and diverse urban network and community. The updated street network allows for a high level of connectivity and wayfinding, through the implementation of landmarks and a connected park system.
The masterplan maintains the culturally significant network of alleys and laneways throughout, but works to connect them cohesively into a larger city grid. Similarly, the city grid activates defined regions in which defined functions and activities can occur. The updated train station allows for Jombang to become a modern city which caters to the cultural and financial needs of the surrounding areas.
