Chicago River Boathouse
The Chicago River Boathouse connects people to the site in several ways. The three pavilions activate the site vertically, by allowing access and movement from river level to 4 metres above ground level. The shape and arrangement of the structures encourages visitors and occupants to circulate through the site through pathways referencing the adjacent city grid and river.
Each pavilion hosts its own distinct function, however the design of each space allows for adaptability both in the buildings designed life, and in any subsequent uses.
Location: Chicago, Illinois
